Inaugural Day of Warmth Raises Over $51,000 For Wisconsin Families.
On Monday, October 13, a percentage of sales from the 1997 Culver’s Frozen Custard and ButterBurgers® restaurants in Wisconsin was donated to the Keep Wisconsin Warm/Cool Fund. This first time fundraiser resulted in a $25,641.22 donation from Culver’s, which was matched by the state of Wisconsin Department of Administration for a grand total of $51,282.44. Over 250 families throughout the state received much needed assistance with their heating bills as a direct result of this effort.
In each county, the energy assistance program and their local involvement was vital to the success of the event. Local volunteers distributed pamphlets, hosted contests and raised the awareness of the program in both large and small companies. “It was truly a cooperative effort, in which our local owners heightened the awareness of the drastic side effects of Wisconsin winters and most importantly, I’m proud we were able to help in the solution,” stated Craig Culver, co-founder.
